2028 Predictions

Schools are designed at the intersection of aspiration and constraint: the conditions and incentives that shape what's possible.

With this in mind, we're gathering perspectives from Horizon Project school system leaders and other trusted thought-partners about the conditions school systems will likely face two years from now. To be clear, this asks for your perspective on the most likely state, not your desired state for these conditions. (Later this year, we'll explore questions of desired state and opportunities for Horizon Project leaders to leverage their collective voice in advocacy.) School system leaders should answer based on the conditions they anticipate will be true for them (i.e. in their state, with their authorizer, etc.).

Community and thought-partner perspectives will inform how we think about 1) which design considerations to commit to, 2) which to build options for, and 3) which to monitor as conditions evolve.

*When the Horizon Project convenes in mid-September, we'll review aggregate response data from this survey. Individual responses will be made visible to the Horizon community but not shared beyond the community. We anticipate a diversity of perspectives and appreciate your candor (it's ok to be genuinely unsure about much of this, and it's also ok to feel conviction about a perspective!).
